Privacy Policy

We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically as you use Student Credits, and limited information we receive from the service providers that help us operate the app.

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name and email address. If you sign in through a third-party provider, we receive basic profile information from that provider.

Content you create. Student Credits lets educators and parents record classroom information, including student names, credit or savings balances, and related transaction notes. This content is stored on your behalf and is associated with your account.

Information collected automatically. When you use the app we may automatically collect device and technical information such as your device type and operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location derived from your IP address, push notification tokens, and general usage and diagnostic data.

Purchase information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, we receive information about your subscription status and the transactions associated with your account. We do not receive or store your full payment card details; those are handled by the app store that processes your purchase.

Support communications. If you contact us, we collect the information you choose to share so that we can respond.

We use the information we collect to:

• create and authenticate your account and keep it secure;
• provide, operate, and maintain the app and its features;
• store and sync your content across your devices;
• send you account-related emails and push notifications;
• process, validate, and manage subscriptions and purchases;
• display advertising in the free version of the app;
• monitor crashes and errors and improve performance;
• detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

If you are located in a region that requires a legal basis for processing personal information (such as the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), we rely on the following bases:

• Contract. To provide the app and the services you request, including creating your account and processing subscriptions.
• Legitimate interests. To secure the app, prevent abuse, monitor errors, and improve our services.
• Consent. Where required, such as for personalized advertising. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation. To comply with applicable laws and lawful requests.

Student Credits relies on trusted third-party providers to operate the app. These providers process information on our behalf and are bound by contractual obligations to protect it. We do not sell your personal information. The providers we currently use include:

We may update this list from time to time as our services evolve. Any new provider will be added to this policy before it begins processing your information.

The free version of the Student Credits app displays ads served by Google AdMob. These ads help us keep the app free for users. AdMob may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to collect data about your interactions with the ads, including to serve personalized advertising.

You can learn more and manage your preferences through Google's advertising technologies, Google's Privacy Policy, and Google Ad Settings. Subscribers on a paid plan do not see ads.

Student Credits offers optional paid subscriptions that unlock additional features and remove ads. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, depending on your device, and we use RevenueCat to manage, validate, and restore your subscription entitlements.

We receive information about your subscription status, but we do not receive or store your full payment card details. Billing is governed by the privacy policies of Apple and Google, and by RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Student Credits uses cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage on your device, strictly for session management and to keep you signed in. These technologies are not used to store personal information for our own tracking purposes.

Third-party providers, including Google AdMob, may use cookies and device identifiers for advertising as described in the Advertising section above.

Your data is stored on secure servers maintained by our infrastructure provider, Supabase. We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long as necessary to provide the app and meet our legal obligations.

When you delete content within Student Credits, it is removed from our servers and cannot be recovered. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it by law. Note that content you have synced may remain on other devices until those devices synchronize.

To request deletion of your account or data, contact us at [email protected]. You may also be able to delete your account from within the app's settings.

We and our service providers may store and process your information in countries other than your own, including the United States and the regions where our providers operate data centers. Where required, we take steps to ensure that such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards.

We prioritize the security of your data and have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include access controls and protecting data in transit using industry-standard encryption. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Do Not Sell or Share. We do not sell your personal information. Certain advertising partners, such as Google AdMob, may use device identifiers to serve personalized ads as described in the Advertising section; you can limit this through your device settings and Google Ad Settings.

Student Credits is intended for use by educators and parents, not by students. The student information stored in the app, such as names and credit or savings balances, is entered and managed by the adult account holder.

The app is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you are an educator or parent, you are responsible for ensuring you have any consents required to enter information about a student.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, or if you are a parent or guardian who wishes to have a student's information removed, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete it from our records.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
